Currently, Mr. Nelson is the Chairman of the Board of the Motion Picture Association of Utah (MPAU).  He began his film career in 1977 in network television. By 1983 Mr. Nelson was producing and directing television commercials, as well as trailers for the Sundance Film Festival (1983-1993), Lois/GGK/Chicago. Grey Advertising/ New York. He produced and directed “Sundance 101" and "Redford/Klimov” for Robert Redford’s Sundance Institute. In 1989 Tim launched [Holy Cow!] Productions still garnering a healthy share of film business in several markets. 

Mr. Nelson wrote and directed his first feature film in 1997 called "Jake's Lot" (aka: “No More Baths”) receiving the Children's Jury Award in the 1998 Chicago International Children's Film Festival, Best Drama in the Valencia International Film Festival. He quickly followed up with his second feature, "Who Gets the House?" which was released on 450 screens. “The Penny Promise,” his third feature film (Best Comedy, Valencia International Film Festival), "Jumping For Joy", a basketball drama, set in 1964, winning “Audience Choice Awards” at the 2003 Newport Beach Film Festival, the Valencia International Family Film Festival and the “Citation of Excellence” award at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival.  “Jumping” is currently running in test theatrical markets in.  Presently Mr. Nelson is in post-production on his 5th Feature Film “Slow Moe,” a 1958 baseball story starring Scotty Leavenworth (7th Heaven, The Green Mile), Marc John Jeffries (The Haunted Mansion) and Sam Hennings (The Aviator), A.J. Michalka (Hollywood Records recording artist).  Between writing, directing and producing movies Mr. Nelson founded the “The Salt Lake Children’s Film Festival” a non-profit organization benefiting children’s charities.
