Ben Lyons

Who is Ben Lyons?

Ben Lyons is E!'s film critic, and you can catch him interviewing stars, covering red carpets, awards shows and hitting festivals for the network and E! Online. Each week on The Daily 10, Ben reviews new releases and classics in his signature segment the Lyons Den.

Born and raised in New York City, Ben is the grandson of legendary New York Post columnist Leonard Lyons and is the son of film and theater critic Jeffrey Lyons. Much of his childhood was spent among the world's most artistic and influential celebrities. The Lyons family has been covering pop culture in American media for more than 80 years.

Ben began his career behind the scenes, working at record labels Def Jam and Roc-A-Fella and then in production. He worked as an associate producer for ESPN, produced segments for the nationally syndicated Hip Hop Nation and produced music videos for various artists like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Black Moon and Tony Touch. He put a short hosting reel together on his own, and his life changed forever.

His first job on television was as the cohost of MTV's Your Movie Show with SuChin Pak. He was seen regularly on MSNBC, Access Hollywood and as recurring contributor to NBC's Reel Talk, the show he helped conceive for his father.

In addition to his E! duties, Ben is a correspondent for Good Morning America on ABC. He hosted My Family's Got Guts for Nickelodeon and ESPN's coverage of the National School Scrabble Championships. He has been a guest on The View, The Bonnie Hunt Show and The Spike Feresten Show as well as on CNN, Fox News, CNBC, The CBS Early Show, Good Day Live in Los Angeles and ESPN Radio.

Since October of 2007, Ben has cohosted Smashtime Saturday at The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas with fellow E! correspondents Sal Masekela, Catt Sadler and DJ Clinton Sparks. This weekly event has featured performances by Akon, Ne-Yo, Lil Jon, Boa, Nelly, Jermaine Dupri and Chester French to name a few.

Ben is a supporter of several philanthropic organizations, including Matt Damon's charity OneXOne.
