How to Enter the KIDS FIRST! Film Critics' Search
- The competition is open to kids, ages 6 to 15. Every child who enters receives a free membership to WonderWorldCity.com.
- Applicant must submit a review of one or more of the official KIDS FIRST! Film Critics' Search titles.
- DVDs of the search titles will be available at Toys R Us stores, Amazon.com and most local libraries.
- The Velveteen Rabbit (Director's Cut) may be purchased at Stepping Stones Entertainment. Note: 90 % every copy purchased here during the campaign will be donated to KIDS FIRST!
- Starz Kids & Family Channel will be playing The Velveteen Rabbit throughout the campaign.
- Check the detail page for each title to download the discussion guide and tips on creating reviews.
- To help our young reviewers succeed, be sure to read through KIDS FIRST! general guidelines for creating reviews.
- Contestants must submit both written and videotaped reviews. Deadline for written reviews has been extended to October 20, 2010. Deadline for videotaped reviews is October 20, 2010.
- Voting for the 20 finalists ends at midnight, October 31, 2010.
- All written reviews must be submitted online, no hand written reviews will be accepted.
- All videotaped reviews must be submitted online to WonderWorldTV.com
- Once a contestant submits a written review, instructions for submitting the videotaped review will be sent.
- Twenty finalists will be determined by public voting at WonderWorldTV.com.
- The five winners will be determined by a panel of celebrity judges.

- 20 finalists will be determined by public voting at WonderWorldTV.com.
- You may vote for yourself or any other entry as much as you want.
- After you find your clip on the site, you can click on the "Email" button on the player and send the link to your video to anyone you choose and encourage them to vote for your review.
When you videotape your review - think about these things. . .
- Would you recommend this film to your friends?
- Talk about what age group you think it is best suited for and whether girls or boys might like it best and why.
- Tell us why you are making your recommendation.
- And - give it urgency such as - "Rush out as soon as you can, you don't want to miss this one." or "You can wait til it comes to DVD."

Why Parents Want Kids Involved
- Learning to critique media is essential. Information received through media is constructed reality with messages, often subconscious, that shape our beliefs, values and attitudes.
- Learning to critique media allows children to develop skills in critical thinking, language skills, writing and public speaking.
- Learning how to conduct an interview helps develop self-confidence as well as verbal and language skills.
Why Kids Want to Be Involved
- Everyone's a winner! There will be a prize package for every contestant.
- Winners will serve for one year.
- Winners will be sent to Red Carpet Events.
- Winners will interview celebrities, in person and by phone.
- Winners will write reviews and blogs which will be posted on the KIDS FIRST! site and sites of our partners.
- Winners will receive a winner's package of gifts including an age appropriate collection of books, retail valued at $200, courtesy of Simon & Schuster.
- The writer of the best review of The Velveteen Rabbit wins a $10,000 scholarship.
