R. L. STINE
Cassie is a 13-year-old goth girl having trouble adapting to a new school and neighborhood. She acts out by playing spooky and outrageous pranks - mostly at the expense of her scaredy cat little brother, Max, and the "oh so popular kids" at school. All is fun and games until the day before Halloween. It was an odd little book called, "The Evil Thing." And it had an odd little warning: "Do Not Read Aloud." But Max insisted, so Cassie began to read him the story. That's when something began to stir in the woods behind their house - and nothing would ever be the same for anyone!
