ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS cover image
Very funny movie based on the characters Ross Bagdasarian introduced in the 50s. Its nostalgia factor places it well with adult chipmunk fans and kids just seem to be enchanted with the chipmunks. The CGI characters are adorable, each which its individual characteristics. Contains some potty humor and suggestive lyrics.
A global phenomenon to generations of fans becomes a live action/CGI motion picture event with a contemporary comic sensibility. Songwriter Dave Seville transforms singing chipmunks Alvin, Simon and Theodore into pop sensations -- while the out-of-control trio lays waste to Dave's home, wreaks havoc with his career, and turns Dave's once-orderly life upside-down. Based on the 1980s cartoon series about a music group of chipmunks comprised of mischievous group leader Alvin; tall and quiet Simon; and chubby, impressionable Theodore. Starring Jason Lee, David Cross, Cameron Richardson, Jane Lynch, and the voice of Ross Bagdasarian Jr. Directed by Tim Hill; written by Jon Vitti, Will McRobb, Chris Viscardi and Ross Bagdasarian. Produced by Ross Bagdasarian Jrl, Janice Karman and Steve Waterman.
