Description:

A quick shake of the joss sticks and our heroes Walker and Ping Ping are off on their adventures through China. In this debut episode, our favorite group of explorers tours the Great Wall of China, from the Gobi Desert to the Bohai Sea.

KIDS FIRST!® Adult Juror Comments:

Wonderful animated exploration of Chinese culture and language, explored through the eyes of an American boy, Walker who has moved to China and is learning about his new surroundings. Brilliantly colored, 2D animation. Very engaging, adorable characters, great animation, excellent musical score. Walker and his dog meet a young girl, Ping Pink who becomes his guide for exploring China and its language. It follows a simple storyline that provides a little adventure young children can relate to. Ping Ping's Grandpa takes the children to the Great Wall of China where they learn about its history. The characters are very respectful and the scenes are very interesting. Very good production quality. Introducing children to a new culture is always a good idea. Since the Beijing Olympics have put China at the top of today's news stories, kids' curiosity is peeked about this country on the other side of the world. What a great opportunity to turn that interest into a lesson that will serve kids well. Learning about China and its culture is a very timely thing. KIDS FIRST!® KID Juror Comments:

Outstanding. Girls enjoyed it better than boys. They loved learning the Chinese words and seeing the images from China. "Yes, we learned to speak Chinese and we practiced new words." They liked Ping Ping, her grandpa and Walker's dog. They also liked the idea of going off on an adventure, and learning about the Great Wall of China.
