Quite an imaginative story about a boy who seeks solace in the friendship of a goldfish. Who would imagine that the gold fish would grow uncontrollably until it becomes enormous, and a problem to care for. We see the boy brining home a whole chicken to feed the fish. The animated images of the goldfish in the tank are outstanding. Finally, the boy hauls the gigantic fish off to a nearby lake and deposits it there by the light of the full moon. We see him sadly waving goodbye to his friend as the clouds float across the moon and then see him return to the lake later as a grown man, waving to a goldfish the size of a whale jumping out of the water to receive the chicken he feeds it.

When a lonely young boy catches a mysterious goldfish while fishing on the lake, no one is prepared for what lies within. The boy's troubled home life leads to an emotional bond with the goldfish based, at least in part, on similar circumstances. They form a bond. But, when the goldfish starts doubling in size after every meal, it becomes difficult to keep his new friend a secret.
