The live action pieces, where we see actual people-le doing things, are the best and the most engaging. The animated sequences are a bit two dimensional. It moves from section to section smoothly though the storytelling is a bit weak. Still , it gives a broad introduction to a culture. For preschoolers, it might attempt to take on too much, such as explaining the hardships that Martin Luther King Junior endured. The audience for this type of content is older. |

Enjoyed it. "It was nice." "People treated each other nicely. They shared paints and crayons." "It made me smile." "I want to know more aobut the game they played and the drums." The younger ones really enjoyed the live action section in Africa with the animals and pointed at the screen and asked for more. They were more engaged during the live action sections and pretty much tuned out the animated sections. The four-year-olds giggled during the talk about the blues. |
