Description:

Includes six award-winning stories: "Bear Snores On," "Bear Wants More," "Henry Hikes to Fitchburg." "Goldilocks and the Three Bears." "Panama," and "The Bear & the Fly." Narration by James Naughton and others. In "Bear Snores On" (By Karma Wilson, Illustrated by Jane Chapman, Narrated by Karma Wilson) Forest animals stop by a cave to warm up from the snow. They drink tea and eat popcorn, but Bear just snores on. What will Bear do when he wakes up to a lair of noisy guests?

KIDS FIRST!® Adult Juror Comments:

All six of these short films have bears in them, some are old animations from 1985. Very cute. "Henry Hikes to Fitchburt" has an interesting history lesson about Henry Thoreau at the end. Three of these shorts have the words on the screen which aids kids who are learning to read to follow along. All the stories are short enough to stay interesting and all of them are funny. For example, in "The Bear and the Fly" the bears overreact to a fly and end up breaking everything in the house and never kill the fly. Three of these were made before 2000 so while they do not measure up to 2009 standards of animation they are still fun to watch. The visual and audio production is very good although the audio does not always match the visual in "Panama" but it doesn't affedt the story. Other fun things - "Bear Snores On" and "Bear Wants More" both rhyme. "Henry Hikes to Fitchburg" has a fun historical plot. "Goldilocks," "Panama," and "The Bear and the Flly" are all funny and entertaining.
