Learning racial acceptance and other moral lessons has never been so entertaining, especially when there is a Romeo and Juliet twist. Delgo is a skillfully animated story full of exciting action and lasting ethical lessons. Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt, Burt Reynolds and Kelly Ripa, lend their voices to this tale of two warring species, which need to learn how to overcome their racial bias. The Lockni are a people who control the magic of the earth, and the winged Nohrin rule the sky. The two races live segregated, under a strained peace agreement until a series of crimes lead to an imminent war. While the subject of interspecies war may sound dark, Chris Kattan adds comic relief to the story as he plays a Lockni named Filo, who is Delgo's best friend. After Delgo and Filo are framed for a crime and thrown into a Nohrin prison, Delgo enlists a former enemy to help them escape and uncover an evil plot to take over the Nohrin and Lockni land. Delgo learns the benefits of teamwork, patience, and mercy during his journey to unite the two battling species against a greater enemy. This task seems impossible until Delgo discovers the only thing that could bring the Nohrin and Lockni together is his love for the Nohrin princess Kyla. Together Kyla and Delgo prove that love will always win over hate fueled by grudges. Whether you love gravity defying sword fights or love stories, there is something for everyone in this exciting family film.
Escape into another world and treat your eyes to lush cinematography as Delgo his bumbling sidekick rescue a princess from an opposing race. Along with the princess, they set out to save their world from the princess's evil aunt who wants to destroy everything in order to gain more power for herself. Delgo learns important lessons along the way such as finding out that vengeance is not the solution to a problem. This film carries a powerful message about not judging others just because they belong with specific group of people. It shows that there are good and evil types in every race. The story line is engaging and the characters are three-dimensional not only in looks but in personal characteristics and attitudes. The bumbling sidekick keeps you laughing throughout the story, even when some of the fighting scenes get a bit intense. The animation is a treat to watch and the alien plants and animals kick your imagination into high gear.
The land of Jhamora is torn apart by the mutual prejudice of two peoples - the winged Nohrin, masters of the skies, and the terrestrial Lockni, who harness the mystical powers of the land. When Delgo (Prinze Jr.), a reckless Lockni teenager, forms a forbidden friendship with the spunky Nohrin Princess Kyla (Hewitt), hostilities between the two peoples escalate, setting the stage for an exiled Empress (Bancroft) to exact her revenge and reclaim her rule.
