Sometimes we find treasures in the darkest parts of our lives. That's what happened to Ester Hobbes when her world turned upside down after her husband's death. Thrown into unfamiliar territory in a house full of foster children, Ester learns that the kids' troubles and heartaches become her own and that she has the ability to make their lives better. The upside of this is that her life becomes better, too. This endearing tale shows the struggle in Ester and the others in the house as they grow spiritually and in family bonding. It's unique in the way it address many issues in foster care from the child's point of view and from the foster family's point of view. This film broadens a child's global perspective and creates interest in issues such as the foster care. It offers a positive and hopeful view of the future.
When her husband dies, Mrs. Ester Hobbes (Ellen Bry, TV's St. Elsewhere) learns that his wealth was just an illusion. Her only real inheritance is a run-down Southern home occupied by a foster family. Slowly, Mrs. Hobbes finds herself making unexpected connections with rebellious teen Justin (Lucas Till, Hannah Montana: The Movie) and the rest of the unwanted kids. Share the journey of discovery in this touching drama of lives transformed.
