This short film about two brothers reveals that even though someone may let you down it is best to forgive and move on. When young Peter wins his local spelling bee, his older brother Jake takes him out for ice cream. It soon becomes apparent that Jake never went to the competition and is simply using his brother to woo the girl who works at the ice cream shop. Through rich cinematography and simple direct scenes, we see the value of a relationship is more than a small fight. Good production values, particularly in a student film. The cinematography is well done, audio quality high, and the topic is something that kids can relate to. The title of the film is appropriate to the topic - Charlatan, one who deceives for his own gain.
