Do you enjoy watching classic science fiction movies with robots? If you do, then Star Kid is a movie for you. It's about a seventh grader named Spencer Griffith who finds a Cybersuit from another galaxy that transforms him into a totally different person when he wears it. If you're wondering whether Spencer will use his suit for good or for bad, watch the movie to find out! This movie has some funny scenes. For example, the conversations Spencer and his cybersuit have are amusing because they both come from totally different planets, so it's hard for them to understand each other. However, the storyline is predictable. It is obvious what is going to happen next. I recommend this movie to kids six to twelve years old because they can identify themselves with the protagonist, Spencer, since he is also in middle school. However, because technology has grown immensely from the opening of this movie in 1997, kids may find the movie outdated since the special effects are not as impressive as today's. Star Kid is one of many classic family films offered to you by HDNet movies on KidScene, available on morning and Friday nights. Credit: Gabriella Chu, age 14, KIDS FIRST! Film Critic
