My nine-year-old son found this extremely engaging, refusing to shut it off at any time and commenting after that it is a good movie. His interest in the story line overrode his ability to see the problems with production value.
This is an unusual animated film - a little bit of Oz and a lot of imagination. You have to applaud the filmmaker for taking on such an ambitious animation production. However, a lot of dialogue is confusing and the sound has some problems as well. At times it is difficult to hear the characters and other times they sound as if they are talking in a tunnel. My attention wavered in the early part but later it pulled me back.
