When I first found out about this film, I didn't know what to expect. I thought this movie would be similar to Star Wars with some good guys fighting bad ones. It turned out it wasn't exactly like that. It was better! I liked this movie because it feels very real and positive.

Even though the main story of the film is fiction, the characters are based on real people. This is a story of a wonderful relationship between two people who dedicated their life to what they love the most - space. This is a story about a man and his 15-year-old son and a real space camp that is located at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. The movie was mostly shot there and I myself now can't wait to visit it.

The story starts when Jimmy (Thomas Horn) is being selected for the competition in Space Camp. He is very excited. You can imagine what it means to a kid that dreamed all his life about going to space and now he has a possibility of making it a reality. Sadly, his mother is against it and doesn't agree with her son's choices. Jimmy decides to lie to his parents and makes it to the camp anyway. Now, if you would like to find out if Jimmy and his teammates made it to space or if you are curious to know how his parents reacted when they found out where Jimmy truly was - you have to watch the movie.

What makes this film special, for me, is the fact that Jimmy is very passionate about his love for space and works hard on trying to be the best at what he does. He keeps pushing himself to become a more educated, better person. I love the friendship Jimmy develops with his teammates even though it gets off to a rocky start. They learn to respect and accept Jimmy for who he is.

My favorite scene in the movie is when NASA's representative decides to listen to the kids' suggestion during critical time and gives them a chance to prove that they are right which leads to a very cool outcome for Jimmy's team.

I recommend this fabulous film to kids ages 5 to 18. Some things and terminology may be too complicated to understand for younger kids. This movie is very inspirational and teaches viewers a lot of valuable lessons! I give "Space Warriors" 5 out of 5 stars. The film will premiere on the Hallmark Channel on Friday, May 31 at 8 p.m. ET (Check your local listings) Later, it will be available on DVD at Wal-Mart.

Very enjoyable. The story is about six teens who are very skilled and get the opportunity to attend Space Camp. They learn that winning isn't the only thing that matters as they learn to become and work as a real team. Kids loved this film. I heard comments such as "Epic!," "Great!" and "I want to go to Space Camp." The boys liked Jimmy best because he is smart and shows that it is cool to be smart. The girls liked Lacey the best because she is the pilot and it was cool for a girl to be the pilot. All the kids said they would tell their friends to watch it and that they would watch it again.
Six highly skilled teenagers are handpicked to be part of a summer space camp competition at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. As the competition heats up, the kids have no idea that their ultimate challenge will be to solve a life or death crisis aboard the International Space Station as the world anxiously watches. Starring Thomas Horn, Danny Glover, Josh Lucas, Dermot Mulroney, Mira Sorvino and Booboo Stewart.
