Si is a very interesting film. The use of color is exceptional. Pacing such a vibrant young girl in a completely white, void-like room makes an impact. The few objects that have color have it for a reason;. There isn't anything that serves to clutter your view and distract from the message of the piece, only to enhance it. Except for a small audio issue around 3:17, the production is nearly flawless. It's an extremely well executed piece of art.

The message itself is surprisingly complex considering how short of a film it is. My interpretation follows along the lines of making the best out of the situation you are given. The girl Si is given a goldfish after asking for a dog and, at first, is visibly discontent with it after it refuses to eat the fish food. But, through a revelation of her own she then decides to add all sorts of colorful crafts to the bowl in an attempt to make the best out of what she has. And, by doing so, she finds herself transported into the fish's world where she has what can only be an amazing experience swimming along as a mermaid.

I highly suggest watching Si and getting your own interpretation of the short film. I rate this film 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 7 to 18. Even if some younger audiences don't realize the deeper message behind the video, the visuals are still very aesthetically pleasing and they're sure to enjoy it.

Si is a bit temperamental but, fortunately, only in her imagination. Her resolution to her disappointment is charming and unusual. You'll have to watch it to find out.
