Underground Artists is a film with a good story that is hard to follow sometimes but interesting to watch. The premise of an oppressive 'ministry' that stops all creative arts is a really fun story to watch unfold, even if the dystopian story has been a genre that has had a lot of over saturation lately. I liked the props and work put into the backgrounds and clothing, and the symbolism that the filmmaker chose to use. Also, while the acting was a little cheesy at times the feelings that the main characters have are understandable and clear. Overall, I thought that the story was great and the message of the film as well: in a society that doesn't celebrate art what would we be like? What would be the feelings and consequences? I think that it is a good film festival submission and would be liked and get people to think. Reviewed by Jas Gil, KIDS FIRST! reviewer, youth
Interesting, a bit like futuristic films we've seen lately - Hunger Games, Divergent, etc. that forecast a totalitarian regime in the future. This student film is well produced with good cinematography and audio. The ending is a bit abrupt and unresolved but, I think teens would enjoy this film.
In the not so distant future where the Ministries totalitarian regime controls all, Edmund an extraordinary student, joins a mysterious group of his fellow students on a journey. He hopes they can all discover what has been missing from their lives.
