Watching how this young girl manages to explore her Turkish roots in such a way as to bring about a major change in her family brought a smile to my face. Some programmers may take issue with the 11 year old running off to Amsterdam in search of her grandfather. Even though her slightly older neighbor boy accompanies her, she is still running away. But, there are appropriate consequences and a cheerful ending. This is well produced - good video and audio, a good story line and moves along at a quick pace. I recommend it.

By chance, 11 year old Dutch Merel discovers a big family secret: her biological grandfather is Turkish. Against her mother's wishes, Merel and her new friend Emre, start a quest for her mysterious grandfather Mehmet. During this adventurous journey, Merel meets remarkable persons and gets caught up in funny and difficult situations. To find out in the end that true family is closer than she thinks.
