This is about a cause that is close and dear to my heart. It is about a kid who starts doing something to change the world and help beaches stay clean. It is a positive, heartwarming type of story with an important message. I give this 4 out of 5 stars because it is family friendly and has a great message. My only issue is the volume of the young boy at the beginning sounds like he is on a speaker phone. It has great visual appeal, flows well and has a great message. It really shows how this child made a difference and how others can as well. Recommended for ages 6 to 18. Reviewed by Denise B., KIDS FIRST! juror.
Sawyer Miller is part of a year long program for kids in Lake Okoboji, Iowa to create projects that help change the world to make it a better place. The kids decided on their own what they would do. Sawyer discovered a Non Profit organization in California that builds and places beach clean up stations around the San Francisco Bay Area and Hawaii. All One Ocean has now created an educational program to teach children about taking care of our oceans. This is Sawyer's story about how he became "the littlest activist" and engaged his community in the process.
