This student film is a breath of fresh air. It's adorable and goofy and is sure to entertain people of many ages. The humor and pace are spot on. As a fellow filmmaker, I am delighted to see a fifth grader making films and bringing their dreams to life. I particularly enjoyed the young boy who plays Igor, Angus Grant, who is also the writer/director. His performance is absolutely hysterical. The storyline is a humorous one about being misdirected and not reading the fine print. It is a silly story, guaranteed to make you laugh and is not related to Mary Shelley's classic story, "Frankenstein." I love that it is made as a mocumentary. I always get a kick out of films in this genre and this one is adorable. The story flows fairly well and certainly keeps the audience engaged at all times. The vocabulary and concepts are basic and are appropriate for the target age. It does not have great production qualities. The lighting and audio are pretty fundamental. However, the sets are adorable and clearly identifiable, taking place primarily inside Dr. Frankenstein's lab, where Igor confesses he does not want to handle brains and complains about Dr. Frankenstein. The costumes are homemade, which makes the film even more awesome. I love that a fifth grader has brought his imaginative ideas to life and created this film. Kudos to Angus Grant from Australia. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for kids ages 7 to 13. Reviewed by Chandler D. and Julie S., KIDS FIRST! jurors.
Igor wanted to be a Baking Assistant but he didn't read the terms and conditions! Now, he has to collect brains for Dr. Frankenstein. How is he going to get out of this mess?
