I recommend this short film and believe children will enjoy it because the story is very good. The only issue I have with it is that the audio is a bit weak. At times I could not hear the dialogue, even when I turned it up as high as I could. The music compliments the scenes very well. It uses vocabulary and concepts that are suitable for the target age. The locations and sets look like a normal home. The story flows well, makes sense, the subject is handled well and it is very watchable. The camerawork is pretty good, except for the scene where the girl falls off the trampoline. She goes out of the frame and I didn't realize she had fallen off it until they showed her lying on the ground. The most appealing thing about this film is its important message about two step-sisters becoming friends. I can only imagine how difficult that must be. The ending is rewarding and made me smile. I highly recommend this short for the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival for ages 7 to 11 and give it 4 out of 5 stars. Reviewed by Jolleen M., KIDS FIRST! Film Critic and Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Adult Juror.
