Adorable storyline, told as a non-narrative animated short. At first, I was unhappy with the color palette and then remembered that it is her dream, which explains the limited colors. I think any African American kid, girl or boy, will relate to the issue of taming their hair and treating it as if it's an intergalactic beast is not inappropriate. Recommended for ages 8 to 18, 4 out of 5 stars. Reviewed by Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Juror.
In a daydream, a young girl parallels her natural hair care routine to the taming of an intergalactic beast. Although the process is strenuous, tedious, and lengthy, she wouldn't have it any other way.
