KIDS FIRST! Film Club
- Offers an opportunity to show entertaining and educational DVDs from the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival on a monthly, weekly or daily basis in a small local venue.
- Is a national program, offered on a subscription basis, to fulfill a desire for on-going programming or special events.
- Partners include more than 100 children's and art museums, film societies, non-profit theaters, libraries, schools and community organizations.
HOW IT WORKS
Once you become a Film Club partner, you'll be given a login name and password to access out online booking program.
- Select the titles you want to play and when. For a sample listing of current titles and where they are being played, visit www.kidsfirst.org/fest.
- KIDS FIRST! ships you DVDs of the programs you have selected on a regular basis.
- The programming may be shown at public performances in your venue, either for free, as part of a general admission to an overall event, or for a "recommended donation."
- You may not charge a firm admission fee.
PROGRAMMING
Every title meets the KIDS FIRST! criteria of:
- NO gratuitous violence or sexual behavior
- NO physical or verbal abuse
- NO bias in terms of race, gender, culture or religion
- NO condescension toward children
- NO replicable unsafe behavior
KIDS FIRST! Film Club Details
- Monthly fee of $250
- Five to six hours of programming is sent you regularly.
- Programs consist of feature films, shorts or a combination of both.
- Programs come from major studios, independent producers and student producers.
- Programs are suitable for ages 0-2, 2-5, 5-8, 8-12 and 12-18.
- Programs may be shown multiple times.
- Programs are returned at the end of the month. You are responsible for any lost programs.
KIDS FIRST! Film Club Q & A
Q. What films are offered to me?.
A. KIDS FIRST! selects approximately 75 new films every quarter,
suitable for kids ages infant through age 18, sort by five
different age groups - 0-2, 2-5, 5-8, 8-12 and 12-18. These include
feature length films, shorts, professional studio productions,
independent productions, and student productions. All programming
must meet the KIDS FIRST! criteria and be suitable for the large
screen. Some films will be subtitled in other languages, Spanish
being the most prevalent. All films will be supplied to you on
DVD.
Q. What does it cost?
A. The programming fee is $250 a month for Club partners who make
an annual commitment. You will be billed monthly, with the first
month's fee due prior to shipping the first films. The fee includes
the cost of outbound shipping; you pay the return
shipping and insurance. You will be billed for any non-returned
DVDs so please insure them when you return them.
If you are interested in a one-time event, know that we do
allow this, but you
need to speak
with a representative at our
office before we can give you a quote.
Q. Are there grants to help cover the fees?
A. A certain number of grants (fee waivers) are available to qualifying
nonprofit organizations. Contact

Q. How often will I receive new films?
A. KIDS FIRST! ships new films once a month. You will use our on-line
ordering system to order films and specifify your screening dates.
New films are added to the booking system four times a
year.
Q. Can we advertise the title of the film?
A. Yes. Images and synopsis are available for download through
a password protected area of our site. Once you join, you'll receive
a password.
Q. What can we charge for tickets?
A. You may not charge a set admission. Films must be shown for
free, as part of another event with a singular admission fee,
or a "recommended
donation" may
be requested.
Q. What formats are the films sent?
A. All of the programming will be provided in DVD format. There are
few exceptions to that rule.
Q. Can I get programs in Spanish?
A. Yes, many of the programs we offer programs have Spanish language
tracks. Many are also close-captioned. Some have other language
tracks.
Q. What is the term of the KIDS FIRST! Film Club agreement?
A. The Film Club term is one year. If you have a special event
that would be a one-time or consists of less frequent screenings, please
inquire.
