Love, Valentine’s Day and Your Favorite Characters

Love is in the air with Valentine’s Day just around the corner. Here are two DVDs that feature two everygreen characters who appeal to kids everywhere. Have fun with these:

CBValentine.JPGA Charlie Brown Valentine. In A Charlie Brown Valentine, love is in the air as Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang make plans to celebrate the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday. It’s the most romantic time of the year and everyone has big hopes of having their dreams of love and friendship fulfilled. Charlie Brown once again finds himself wishing he had the courage to ask the Little Red-Haired Girl to the dance. While he pines away for her, Peppermint Patty and Marcie do their best to woo him. DVD. 50 min.; $14.97; Ages 5-18. Warner Home Entertainment.

Garfield_1.jpgGarfield Show: All You Need is Love (And Pasta). Starring everyone’s favorite lasagna-eating cat, the DVD features six love-themed misadventures just in time for Valentine’s Day. The all-new CGI-animated cartoon from Cartoon Network is based on Jim Davis’ timeless comic strip, which was recently voted #1 by Nickelodeon Magazine readers. The wildly popular series follows the corpulent kitty and the world he lives in, his owner, the dull but decent Jon Arbuckle, the happy-go-lucky pup Odie, the cloying “cutest kitten in the world” Nermal, Garfield’s permanent houseguest Squeak the mouse, as well as assorted colorful characters from Garfield’s neighborhood. Through situations both fantastic and familiar, Garfield entertains with his unique point-of-view and his sarcastic wit. DVD. 72 min.; $14.93; Ages 5-8. Vivendi Entertainment.
