Film Critic, age 12<\/p>\n<p>I love <em>The Lord Of The Rings: The War of the Rohirrim<\/em> because it focuses on girl power. There is a free spirited woman, H\u00e9ra (Gaia Wise), who lives in the kingdom called Rohan. After years without seeing her childhood friend, Wulf (Luca Pasqualino), he and his father, Lord Thorne (Jude Akuwudike), return and Wulf asks for H\u00e9ra\u2019s hand in marriage. After a confrontation gone wrong between Wulf\u2019s father and H\u00e9ra\u2019s father, Wulf swears revenge and starts a devastating war.<\/p>\n<p>This movie is so good.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-2180\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kidsfirst.org\/juror\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Lordrings.b.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"246\" height=\"139\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kidsfirst.org\/juror\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Lordrings.b.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.kidsfirst.org\/juror\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Lordrings.b-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 246px) 100vw, 246px\" \/>Initially, this film seems to be about how the men save the day while the women cower and hide. But, it turns out that this is a women&#8217;s empowerment story which explains that women are the past and the future. I commend Gaurav Sharma as the visual effect\u2019s artist. The fire is very realistic as if it is running wild in the theater. In the two final battles between H\u00e9ra and Wulf, I could barely contain my excitement as I fought the urge to say, \u201cYes! Girl power! Get him!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The voice acting is so good; Gaia Wise\u2019s emotions are so impressive and Luca Pasqualino\u2019s voice acting is realistic \u2013 you can really hear the sadness and anger in his voice.<\/p>\n<p>Olwyn (Lorraine Ashbourne) is so awesome; Wulf says she is too old for fighting and then Olwyn kicks his butt. I have to mention Kenji Kamiyama as the director, because he really delivers a great film.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2179 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kidsfirst.org\/juror\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Lordrings.c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"249\" height=\"95\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kidsfirst.org\/juror\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Lordrings.c.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.kidsfirst.org\/juror\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Lordrings.c-300x114.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 249px) 100vw, 249px\" \/> My favorite part is when H\u00e9ra comes out in a wedding dress to face Wulf and says \u201cYou may wear a crown but you are not a king!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The film\u2019s lesson is don\u2019t underestimate women and what they are capable of. Note that there is a lot of violence, bloodshed, and death.<\/p>\n<p>I give <em>The Lord Of The Rings: The War of the Rohirrim<\/em> 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults.
