Are you concerned about what kids watch on TV? At the movies? On DVD? In videogames? You can help kids become more media savvy and better communicators, while having lots of fun, by starting your own Junior Film Critics Club at your school, youth group or at home. <\/span><\/p>\n

And now, it just got easier to become a trained Juror. And it\u2019s FREE!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

KIDS FIRST! needs your help to roll out our new training program. Part web-based, part interactive seminar, it can all be done from your home. For the first 50 people who sign up for our trial classes, the $40 training fee will be waived. <\/span><\/p>\n

Sign up by Wednesday, December 10, 2008, to ensure a space in our next class.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how you can get started:<\/span><\/p>\n

STEP 1: Go online and fill out our juror application form.<\/a> <\/span><\/p>\n

STEP 2: You will receive a confirmation by email, giving you a choice of 3 different dates and times for the class.<\/span><\/p>\n

STEP 3: RSVP for the specific class you would like to attend.<\/span><\/p>\n

STEP 4: Review our online training manual.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

STEP 5: Call in to our class at GoToMeetings using the instructions sent by email. YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE ACCESS TO A PHONE AND A COMPUTER OR A COMPUTER WITH HEADPHONES AND MICROPHONE TO ACCESS THE ONLINE CLASS.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this class you will learn to rate and evaluate media using the KIDS FIRST! criteria and learn how to conduct an evaluation with a group of children. The training is open to everyone, but you will need access to a group of at least 5 children in a particular age group for your jury or Junior Film Critics Club.<\/span><\/p>\n
