I was very surprised and truly enjoyed every minute of it.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Big Apple Circus <\/em>completely changed my feelings about circuses. My early memories of the circus included smelly dirty elephants, weird people and animals. <em>Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Big Apple Circus<\/em>, promises an afternoon or evening of thrills and laughs &#8211; and a lifetime of memories!<\/p>\n<p>I love the historical background of this circus. After traveling in Europe, Paul Binder and Michael Christensen returned to New York City and founded the <em>Big Apple Circus<\/em> in 1977. It began as alternative to the glitz and spectacle of the traditional American three ring circus. <em>Big App<\/em><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-630 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kidsfirst.org\/juror\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/BAC.d.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"152\" height=\"152\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kidsfirst.org\/juror\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/BAC.d.jpg 315w, https:\/\/www.kidsfirst.org\/juror\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/BAC.d-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.kidsfirst.org\/juror\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/BAC.d-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 152px) 100vw, 152px\" \/><\/em><em>le Circus<\/em> has epitomized the intimacy and artistry associated with the European one ring circus.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this year\u2019s celebration, <em>Big Apple Circus<\/em> presents 10 time World Record Holder, Nik Wallenda. My favorites include Ty McFarlan, the Ring Master and the two clowns that interact and have fun with audience members. The daring seven person pyramid on the high wire by Nik Wallenda and The Fabulous Wallendas is breathtaking.<\/p>\n<p>I recommend The Big Apple Circus for ages 4 to 18 as well as adults and give it 5 out of 5 stars.
