Film Critics Boot Camp <br \/><\/strong><strong>Coming This Summer to Philadelphia, June 22 to 27, 2020 <br \/><\/strong><em>Tweens and teens learn to critique films, interview celebrities and speak on-camera<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The <strong>KIDS FIRST! Film Critics Boot Camp<\/strong> will meet at the Klein College of Media and Communication at Temple University this summer, June 22 to 27. Taught by leading educators, film critics and media specialists, children ages 9 to 16 learn to become entertainment reporters through this intensive program. This camp has taken place in previous years on the Disney lot in Burbank (CA), Discover Communications World Headquarters in Silver Spring (MD), Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network\u2019s Headquarters in Brooklyn (NY) and other locations.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"KIDS FIRST! Film Critics Boot Camp offers young people the opportunity to learn\nthe skills they need to critique and review films, present their reviews\non-camera and interview celebrities. \u201cChildren\nlearn a variety of behind-the-scenes film industry skills as they watch and\ncritique the latest films, write reviews, present their reviews on-camera and\nlearn interview techniques. During camp they meet and learn from working film\ncritics as well as actors, directors and producers of films designed for youth\nand families, both in person and via Skype interviews,\u201d says Ranny Levy,\nKIDS FIRST! As campers watch and review films,\nthey are learning skills that will last a lifetime including improved critical thinking skills, improved\nwriting and vocabulary skills, interviewing skills, improved team building and\nlistening skills, and of course building self-esteem and confidence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKIDS FIRST! Film\nCritics Boot Camp definitely helped me improve my vocabulary and writing. I used\nto not like writing and now I do,\u201d said Angel David Gonzales who participated\nin one of the camps in Brooklyn,\n NY. Gonzalez\u2019s\nteacher, Madeline Rodriguez noted that participating in the camp boosted his\nconfidence as well.&nbsp; &#8220;It was really\nnice to see him open up from his shell and really embrace this experience and\nopportunity,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following\nthe camp, campers have the opportunity to join the KIDS FIRST! Film Critics\nteam of reporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reviews\nby KIDS FIRST! Film Critics are watched and read by more than seven million\npeople every month through broadcast, print and online publications including\nYouTube, Kidzworld.com, Kidsville News, GRAND Magazine, Press4Kids, SoCal City\nKids and many more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>KIDS FIRST!
