Film Critic, age 11<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/w3DFDyNMioA?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I really\nlike the DVD <em>Octonauts: Reef Rescue<\/em>,\nbecause we experience a new adventure with each episode.&nbsp; The animation is simple and has a rainbow of\nsplashy colors.&nbsp; The music is also very\nplayful, supporting the kaleidoscope of action in each different rescue\nmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Octonauts: Reef Rescue<\/em> has a lot of lively characters, led\nby Captain Barnacles, who is a bear.&nbsp; His\ncrew also includes a number of other animals including a penguin, an ex-pirate\nkitten and a sea otter.&nbsp; The most creative\ncharacters are vegimals \u2013 yes, part vegetable, part animal.&nbsp; And, each rescue ends swimmingly! It promotes\npositive social behavior, teamwork and kindness to one another and animals. I\ngive this DVD 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 2 through 8. Adults\nwill also enjoy this as they watch it with their kids and will probably learn\nsomething new. This DVD is available now, so look for it. In\nthese episodes, we learn about baby sea turtles, sunfish, tiger sharks and\nmore. There is always a conflict in every episode and they manage to come up\nwith the cleverest ways to save the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The series\nstars voice-talent actors Ross Breen, Teresa Gallagher and Simon Greenall and\nis produced by Adam Idelson.&nbsp; I really\nlike the animation and give props to the animator Willian Muir. He keeps it\nvery simple so that all ages can enjoy watching it. It is not just the main\ncharacters that I enjoyed. Oh, no no no, I really enjoyed the animated sea\ncreatures as well. A lot of these sea creatures have very hard textures to\nmimic, so they make it through very nicely, plus we get a little sneak peak of\nthe actual animals themselves at the end and that\u2019s pretty cool. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the\nkind of where they make learning fun, which they succeed at.&nbsp; There is not really a moral, but I it\ndefinitely promotes a love of ocean life. This show is great at teaching kids about\nmarine life and their habitat. When I was younger, I was obsessed with animals\nof all sorts and I adored this show. Watching it again reminds me why I loved\nit so much!&nbsp; There are not a lot of other\nshows that are dedicated to teaching kids about ocean life, so that\u2019s a plus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I give this\nDVD 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 4 to 9.
