In celebration of the upcoming release of \u201cThe Dark Knight Rises,\u201d the film\u2019s director\/writer\/producer, Christopher Nolan, will be accorded a rare industry honor: Nolan will have his hand and footprints cemented into the famed forecourt of Grauman\u2019s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.<\/p>\n
The hand-and-footprint ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 7, at 10:00 a.m.<\/p>\n

Opening on July 20, 2012, \u201cThe Dark Knight Rises\u201d is Nolan\u2019s hugely anticipated conclusion to his Dark Knight trilogy, which began in 2005 with \u201cBatman Begins.\u201d In 2008, he followed with \u201cThe Dark Knight,\u201d which broke multiple records on its way to earning more than a billion dollars at the worldwide box office.<\/p>\n
Apart from the blockbuster franchise, Nolan earned widespread praise, and two Academy Award\u00ae nominations, for his hit thriller \u201cInception,\u201d which remains one of the most talked about films in recent years. He earned his first Academy Award\u00ae nomination for his screenplay for the thought-provoking 2000 release \u201cMemento,\u201d which he also directed.
