This movie was exciting, the kids loved following the adventures of four girls trying to follow their dream of becoming Musketeers. "You never knew what challenge they were going to face." "I really liked the dog because he was funny. When he climbed into the bucket at the end of the movie it made me laugh." "They all got called to guard the King and I hope there will be a part 2 to the movie." "The music made me want to get up and dance." "It was so cool that the dress could change into a smaller dress so she could protect the Prince." "I think the music added to the excitement of the film." "This movie made me want to read books about Musketeers and learn more." This film was very engaging for the children. The kids were all glued to the TV watching and waiting to see what would happen next. Each part of the story built upon the last and the historical time setting created interest in the older kids to learn more about that period. The kids really enjoyed the humor the dog character brought to the film.
Barbie returns as Corinne, a young girl in France who wishes to become a musketeer and protect the Prince. As Corinne reaches Paris and the King's castle she quickly finds out that no one believes a girl could possibly be able to protect the Prince. Determination keeps Corinne in Paris and she soon gets a job as a maid in the castle. After making friends and showing off some of her musketeer moves, Corinne discovers her fellow maids have the same dream of saving the Prince. Witness the four girls as their friendship grows and they train in hopes that one day they will be able to prove themselves. Their opportunity comes soon enough when they discover a plot to kill the Prince. When no one believes what they have uncovered they must prepare to save the Prince on their own. This inspiring story proves that any dream is possible, whether it is the wish to be the first man to fly or the first girl to become a musketeer. With Corinne's kitten training to become a musCATeer to defeat a bully bulldog there is constant comedy mixed with the inspirational message. Between the amazing acrobatics and the constant danger the Prince is in, there is never a dull moment in the King's castle. Kids will be enthralled with the story, while learning that they should never give up on their dreams. Treats the issue of gender equality in a non-confrontational manner with a splash of humor. An excellent example of balance between entertainment and education, teaching lessons of perseverance and determination.
