STARGATE ATLANTIS: SEASON 5

This 5-disk series mixes realistic special effects with live action to propel the audience into a futuristic society. The city of Atlantis may be located on Earth, but that does not stop the Stargate team from traveling to distant worlds, through hyperspace, to save a dying race of aliens or help fellow scientists in need. Every episode is a completely different voyage and the moral beliefs of the Stargate team are frequently challenged. When the Wraith race of aliens are the victims of a genocide plan, the Stargate team knows that it is wrong to let the plan unfold because, even though the Wraith may be an Ancient enemy, they do not deserve to die. If confronted with fatal danger or an impossible puzzle, the Stargate team uses group dynamics to solve their problems; all members of their squad are equal in importance. The life of this intergalactic team is fast-paced and never slows down, even romance needs to be swift when it blooms between two commanders while Stargate Atlantis fights for control over their hijacked mother ship The Daedalus. There is no gratuitous violence among the everyday battles and the content is entertaining and appropriate for ages 8-12. The never-ending suspense and fast witty dialogue are enthralling and will keep viewers guessing till the very end.

In this action-packed fifth season, sparks fly when Woolsey becomes the new leader of the Atlantis team. Meanwhile, McKay faces difficult personal challenges; Teyla must balance her roles as mother and warrior; Ronan's past returns with a vengeance, and Keller finds peril, then help, from an unlikely source. A provisional relationship with the Wraith takes a shocking turn and new adversaries test the team's courage and resolve like never before.
