Description:

Looking for a fast way to earn dough, Wallace decides to make it. Armed with a batch of ovens, an army of robotic kneading arms and an old-fashioned windmill, Wallace & Gromit™ start "Top Bun," their new bread-baking business. Sales rise quickly and Wallace falls head over buns in love with a seductive bread-industry icon, Piella Bakewell. But when bakers suddenly start disappearing, Gromit realizes that his master is in danger as he follows a twisting, turning trail of crumbs to solve a murder mystery that becomes…A MATTER OF LOAF AND DEATH!

KIDS FIRST!® Adult Juror Comments:

A baker's dozen isn't so great when you're talking about murder. Wallace and his dog, Gromit, open "Top Bun," a bread baking business. They are quite successful, and life seems to be going well for Wallace, who falls in love with a bread industry icon named Piella Bakewell. Things aren't perfect, though. Twelve bakers have already been murdered, and Gromit soon realizes that Wallace might be the next victim. He does everything he can to save his master using entertaining, clever strategies that keep the viewing audience captive. "Wallace & Gromit" once again lives up to its reputation for excellent cinematography as the clay characters take on lives of their own through stop-motion animation. It offers a great use of humor, appropriate for its audience.

KIDS FIRST!® KID Juror Comments:

This is a bit different from the classic "Wallace & Gromit "movies in the sense that the older "Wallace & Gromit" movies were based upon Wallace's ideas and impulses - like going to the moon or building robots. The antagonist stemmed form Wallace's own ideas in the classic ones. This was more like "The Curse of the Were-Rabbit." I think my friends would like that it's different. It's claymation, not CGI, and you don't see that as often. It was a bit predictable, but was still funny. My favorite part was seeing the contraptions in the beginning that Wallace made.
