Description:

Join Barbie in a colorful, modern-day fairytale filled with fashion, friends and fun! Barbie and her dog Sequin jet off to visit her aunt's amazing fashion house in Paris, and much to her surprise, it's about to be shut down forever. After she discovers three enchanting Fairies with sparkle-magic powers, Barbie comes up with a brilliant idea to save the business. She even inspires Alice, a shy fashion designer, and together they create a dazzling runway fashion show. Barbie shows that magic happens when you believe in yourself.

KIDS FIRST!® Adult Juror Comments:

Barbie delights viewers in this tale of underdog rising up to achieve their goal through kindness and talent - and a little bit of magic. Music keeps kids laughing and dancing along while they learn what it takes to design a own it for the runway. All it takes is a bit of shimmer, glimmer and shine. In addition to a fun story, there is a strong message of forgiveness and second chances. Parents should be warned, however, that there are some zombie peas singing a number near the beginning, and they might scare sensitive viewers. Recommended for ages 8-12 due to strong focus on dating.

KIDS FIRST!® KID Juror Comments:

I liked this movie because of all the fashions and the different dresses. It looked really good with the animation. It was about Barbie not feeling good about herself when she was fired. She went to her aunts house, and she wasn't doing well so Barbie helped her. Ken did the right thing going to Barbie after the mean girl played a trick on them and made it look like he broke up with Barbie. My favorite part was when they figured out that the fairies were in the closet. The message of not feeling bad about yourself was good.
