It has been around 40 years since the very first Star Wars film came out and, the legendary universe is back again with this animated Disney TV show. Star Wars Rebels has action, drama, comedy and everything else you would love and come to expect from the epic Star Wars franchise.

Star Wars is an action series with a compelling story full of drama and comedy that makes the viewers pity the characters and also fall in love with them as they grow and become more familiar. Relationships between the characters are created, causing some romance, but it is not overdone.

The story takes place 40 years between the events of Episode III and IV, when the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. The story focuses on a group of rebels as they try to do what little they can to take down the evil and powerful empire. In the first season, the group goes against small government and not many big people. But in the second season, they get the attention of some bugger figures including Darth Vader himself.

One thing I love about the series is that they include a lot of characters from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the last TV series featuring Star Wars.

My favorite episode is the Season 2 premiere. It features many characters from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a series close to my heart because it is one of the first things related to Star Wars that I ever saw. And, it is one of my favorite TV series ever. I fell in love with the characters and it is nice to see them back in Star Wars Rebels, better than ever before.

For the most part, this series is very nicely made for several reasons. Dave Filoni, one of the creators, includes a lot of aspects from Clone Wars, which I like. The animation is very similar. The dialogue is common. And, I like the way he makes it seem like it's all connected in one big universe.

The voice acting is wonderful. It is rather hard to voice act a Jedi because you need to make them kind, and peaceful, but powerful. Freddie Prinze Jr. who plays Kanan, one of the Jedis, really excels in his role. The rest of the cast is very good as well.

Star Wars is not meant for little kids. It is more suitable for pre-teens, teens and adults. It is something really the whole family can enjoy together. I give it 5 out of 5 stars because Star Wars Rebels is very entertaining and continues the ever-lasting story of Star Wars. If you would like to see Season 2, watch for it on Disney XD on October 14th.

This animated show returns October 14 on Disney XD and promised to be a great follow up to the first season. Starring Vanessa Marshall, Freddie Prinze Jr and Steve Blum, it follows a brave and clever ragtag starship crew that stands up against the evil Empire as it tightens its grip on the galaxy and hunts down the last of the Jedi Knights. KIDS FIRST! Film Critic Gerry O. comments, "One thing I love about the series is that they include a lot of characters from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the last TV series featuring Star Wars."
