Intergalactic Camp makes a terrific addition to the KIDS FIRST! Film Festival with its blend of comedy, fun characters and music.

Ronaldo (Ronaldo Souza) believes in the existence of aliens. When he and his little sister (Marianna Santos) win a place to attend Intergalactic Camp, they discover something extraordinary. This feature from Brazil has all the elements of a terrific film for kids with its charming protagonists, Ronaldo and his sister, and an intergalactic mission. Young Ronaldo from the opening scene morphs to an older Ronaldo as he and his spunky sister audition for Intergalactic Camp, and burst into song. They are adorable and, once they get to the camp, prove that their superpower is just being who they really are. Everyone is quite well cast, especially Dr. Helium (Blota Filho), who is hysterical. I love that the language that everyone can understand is music!

The film's message is that we have to be true to our dreams, even if it involves speaking with aliens. Note that there is some mild profanity scattered throughout.

I give Intergalactic Camp 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 12, plus adults. By Julie S., KIDS FIRST!
