I enjoyed this short film, which addresses the issue of immigrants marrying just to get their green card, but end up finding true love instead. When I first read the synopsis of the film I expected it would be fairly political and, in a way, it is. However, it has a sweet underlying story about finding love when you least expect it. The cinematography is quite good, with bright and vibrant the colors. The costuming is very good, as is the set, especially in the apartment. The locations are also very beautiful. I found the actors quite sweet and the one who steals the show is the young boy, who is unequivocally the essence of sweetness, especially when he steps in at end to rescue his mom. The immigration office, played by Lori Hammel, is a little over-the-top, but they can be that way in reality, so I let it go. And the two principal actors that play the supposedly married couple are straight out of central casting, and quite believable. The message of this film is about finding "true love" when you least expect it. There is a bit of mild profanity. I recommend this film for ages 14 to 18, plus adults and give it 4 out of 5 stars. Leonardo, an Italian immigrant who lives in New York, marries a Latina woman, Nikki, to obtain the American green card. Through the comedy of it all Nikki and Leo fall in love "for real" but it looks like "Uncle Sam" will be the one to have the last laugh.
