MRS. WHITTLE
Mrs. Whittle's Cottage is an appealing show with fun characters, primarily puppets that focuses on teaching children basic life skills such as how to make lemonade. Plus, it uses lighthearted music.

This is a TV series that delivers a lighthearted educational show with Mrs. Whittle as the host and various Muppet-type characters that join her.

I like the educational focus of the show accompanies with catchy songs that keep the audience engaged. The short clip about how to make lemonade is particularly well made. The camerawork is quite good although the lighting is sometimes a problem. The set behind the host is a drop screen, which works fine, but doesn't show up very well. The host, Mrs. Whittle has a pleasant demeanor and her relationship with the Muppet feels like a teacher whose patience is endless. Connor is also featured in the episode "Yummy in the Tummy" and he goes from not knowing how to how to make lemonade and suspicious of its taste to learning how to make it and liking it. Later on, Connor learns more about things about animals and leaves. Another character, Tilly the bookworm, shares its quest for learning with us. The music is one of my favorite things about this show as the songs have easy to understand lyrics and are well paced. My favorite part is when Mrs. Whittle learns how to defend herself during the episode with a boxing trainer. I also like the alpaca segment, since it's an animal I know very little about. Connor is my favorite character. He reminds me of a young child. Mrs. Whittle is certainly the star of the show and is consistent throughout.

The message of this show is really about following your interests and learning about different things.

I give Mrs. Whittle's Cottage 3.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 2 to 8. Reviewed by Tom W., KIDS FIRST!
