Appreciated by younger ones and one child who needed some extra help with her letter making skills. "It was ok; it was easy." "The animals are cute." "There are lots of different types of people in this show." "The pictures showed me how to make the letters - I liked that." "I thought about how different letters make shapes that can be an animal or something else."
Good instructional DVD for kids. Clear and detailed directions for holding pencils, forming letters and writing correctly. Encourages kids to write letters correctly as well as turn the letters into fun pictures. Good for kids who don't know how to write or for kids who can't figure out how some letters go. Definitely for younger kids - preschool age - or for those requiring assistance. The continuity is well thought out. The letters are presented in a specific sequence and after each is introduced, it is then drawn three times, accompanied with verbal instructions and encouragement. The adult demonstrating does a great job and her voice is very suitable. She is supportive. There are also young children onscreen doing the work which appeals to young viewers as well. They draw pictures using the letter shapes which makes it fun and novel. Good pace. Bright colors and a thick black felt pen is used when drawing letters which makes the visuals pop. The only drawback is that it is not easy to go to a particular place in the show.
