Description:

Danny and Marisa visit Raj and Asha for a play date where they are introduced to Indian customs like removing their shoes before entering the home, naan flatbread, and Diwali, the festival of lights. Join the safari search for Asha's lost stuffed tiger and discover more cultural wonders along the way.

KIDS FIRST!® Adult Juror Comments:

Nice interaction between the characters. The way the video is broken into segments make it great for classroom use or to pause for discussion. The repetition of the foreign words is good too. It describes the culture of India in a way that children can understand. By using themes that all children can relate to such as holidays, spots, clothing and food, it shares a lot of new information in an understandable way. All the characters are polite and enjoy spending time together. The older children help the younger one find her toy. The mix of animation with actual video footage from India is nice. The pace holds your interest.

KIDS FIRST!® KID Juror Comments:

Very entertaining as well as educational about the culture in India. "I liked learning about the Taj Mahal." "The kids enjoyed repeating the words at the end of each segment." "My friends would like to learn how to play cricket and carrom." The kids asked to learn more about the Taj Mahal, dwali and other holidays. "I'd watch it again."
