Kids are drawn in, and able to participate with the DVD every time the animals spell out a word. In another episode, Dog and his friends spell out all the words needed to build a rockin' band, such as tuba, guitar, and of course drums. Every episode includes fun songs; Duck sings one when he is hunting stars, and every animal joins in a chorus when they are about to transform a word. Although the animals are always learning how to spell words, they also learn significant lessons, one being giving is better than getting. Bear helps Dog search for the missing L to transform his Christmas present B-A-L into a real ball. There are three episodes and they are just short enough to keep kids attention. With the help of these word savvy animals, kids will be more motivated to read and excited about learning how to spell.
With the help of the Word Friends, learning how to read can be both entertaining and motivating. In this holiday edition of Word World the animal friends; Dog, Duck, Frog, and Bear learn important lessons while they teach viewers reading tips and transform the letters into the things they spell. It is Christmas time and all the animals are filled with the spirit of giving. Duck wants to capture the real Christmas star so he can give it as a gift to Frog, and with some secret help Duck finds the letters S-T-A-R to give to his best friend.
