The journey of this adventure film is the lesson about how friends stick together and help one another, through thick and thin. Also, we are reminded that the simple real life, of a warm hearth to sleep by or a stick to chase, if it is one's true nature, is the ultimate journey. This delightful adventure does have scenes that show potential bodily harm to the animals and scenes that might scare young viewers.
Bolt is a loveable canine whose 'person' is a young girl who stars in adventure movies. His home, until he is, by mistake, shipped to New York in a Styrofoam filled box, is on a movie set, in his own trailer. The only thing not make-believe is the love between Bolt and his young owner. His journey home, with new companions - a scruffy, wise black cat and a devoted hamster who lives is a protective bubble, is filled with adventure, challenge, growth, peril, and newfound understanding. Bolt, as is his owner, Penny, ultimately face the difference between 'real life' and 'make believe powers.'
