This story appeals to both children and adults, with an engaging pace and a nicely woven presentation of many difficult and realistic issues. The main characters are competent and complex, modeling positive behaviors such as working hard, taking risks and collaborating. There is a light-hearted mix of "magic" and unexpected serendipity in the resolution of the drama. The interesting portrayal of the process of fashion and design, creates a framework for the story, while educating and inspiring. Feel-good ending. Depicts realistic people and interactions in challenging circumstances. The clever "twist" of fantasy at the end only makes it even more fun and entertaining.
