A sweet presentation by a venerable older man who reads stories to children. The location is inviting, with fireplace, rocking chair, and devoted dog. Grandpa Read invites children to gather round and listen quietly to some familiar stories including The Three Bears, The Talking Fish, Puss 'n Boots, Cinderella and Polly of the Circus. The stories are accompanied with simple, coloring book-style images. The focus is on the narrator rather than the images from the stories. After each story, he talks with the children about the choices made by the characters in the story. The narrator is pleasant but not exceptional. He uses some expression but doesn't change his voice when changing characters. So few children have a grandpa, or even a parent to read to them that this fills a real gap. Very enjoyable.

Grandpa Read is a gentle, loving grandfather who reads classic children's stories to calm them during their daily "quiet time." Here, he reads Three Bears, Cinderella and three more stories accompanied by commissioned artwork.
