JUNK YARD CASTLE, THE cover image
Nine-year-old twins, Joey and Fran, go into the junk yard to retrieve their lost ball and discover a castle with someone in it who won't let them in or return their ball. Joey and Fran go back at night, hoping to get into the castle they couldn't get into before. Linus, the garbage man's son, is looked down on by the twins. He saves them from the junk yard bulldozer and they become friends and learn that he is smart and creative. This screenplay deals with the concepts of stereotypes and shows how even garbage can turn into something wonderful when you are creative. The kids are very realistic and you are glad when things work out for them. This could really help a child socially to learn to accept people and not judge them in advance. It shows how even negative behavior, like arguing, can lead to social and emotional growth.
