THREE FATHERS cover image
Portrays the struggle of a young American girl who, while separated from her father in China, find valuable friends and experiences in a different culture. Simultaneously, it portrays the struggle of the Zhu family with Hu La, the spoiled daughter rebelling against her elders, but eventually learns love an respect for her parents. Strong moral message with adults who set good examples. Characters could benefit from more depth and stronger personalities.
Melody comes to China to visit her father. She rides bikes, drinks wolfberry tea, goes to church, visits a museum, and goes by houseboat to a farm. She makes a lot of new Chinese friends and gets to know her own father better.
