A creative holiday story that would entertain children as well as parents. Carries a good message that good overcomes bad and will be rewarded. Takes place during World War II. Original concept: They need coal to heat the house, so the boy's sick sister can get better, so the boy tries to be bad so to earn Santa's disapproval and get coal in his stocking for Christmas. Story draws you in and makes you care about this family. Characters are realistic and three-dimensional. Dialogue is believable and natural.
