Happily accepted! Being a person who goes to the super market and uses a cart to put all my food in, I have never once thought about a story involving those squeaky baskets, but Kailyn R. Waters has. This short film is an extremely original story that is definitely child friendly. It is a very unique story, but I lost interest about 4 minutes before it ended! The plot drags a bit too long and eventually, lost the freshness that hooked me in. Another thing that fell short is the animation. The characters are drawn almost like stick figures. There is a hand-drawn look to them that I enjoyed. I adore the music in this film. It helps change the moods of the scenes. And, the sound effects are spot on - birds chirping, cart squeaking, train driving, crane moving etc. The main message is the best part of it all. It is all about finding your purpose in life. This is a great lesson to teach children. Also the story has some rather interesting characters. There is a disabled boy who feels that he is an outcast. This is another fantastic example of what we should be teaching children. To try to help out people with struggles. The first time the go cart sees the boy, they feel a connection since they are both disabled. I recommend this film for ages 5 to 13. Children will learn valuable lessons from this short movie. I give this film 3.5 out of 5 stars. Reviewed by Talia J. and Julie S., KIDS FIRST! Film Critic and KIDS FIRST! Juror.
