KIDS FIRST! Film and Video Festival 2000
March 23, 24, 25
Sanbusco Center and the Jean Cocteau Theater
Major sponsors: Borders Books, Hollywood Video, Trans Lux Corp
A three day weekend showcasing The Best Children's Videos from 1999 and a fund-raising event to benefit the Coalition for Quality Children's Media which includes the KIDS FIRST!® online auction!
When the
Academy Awards are announced next month, how much attention will be
given to children's film?
Unfortunately, children's films are often the step-child of the
motion picture industry. For some, this weekend will be filled with
stories on who's wearing what at the Oscars this year, but for Santa
Fe-based Coalition for Quality Children's Media, the hot topic is
quality children's media. The Coalition's KIDS FIRST!® initiative
is dedicated to identifying quality children's films and videos. (A
volunteer jury of 3300 adults and children do the KIDS FIRST!®
ratings.)
