Beautiful depiction of contemporary Vietnamese family life. Kids-teaching-kids format promotes tolerance of different cultures. Nice contrast between the wealthier city family and the poorer country family. "Counteracts the cultural isolation/superiority that many Americans feel."

Two Viet Namese families, one near Ho Chi Mihn City and one in the countryside near Mekong River, bring the viewer into their homes and daily lives. Youngsters from each family narrate the film, explaining the various customs and habits of their cultures.
